My name is Andrew Tickell…
I am a freelance writer, newspaper columnist, legal academic and occasional broadcaster based in Glasgow, Scotland. Originally from rural mid-Argyll, I studied law at the Universities of Edinburgh, Utrecht, Glasgow and Oxford. By day, I am now a Lecturer in Law at Glasgow Caledonian University.
I started writing seriously about politics in the lead up to the 2014 referendum on Scottish independence. I have been writing regular columns ever since, focusing mainly on law and politics in Scotland, the UK, Europe and beyond.
An experienced broadcaster, I regularly appear on national radio, in print and on television as a commentator on law and politics, and currently write a weekly column for the Sunday National newspaper. My other bylines include the Times, the Daily Record, the Sun, the Courier, the Herald, the Scotsman, Scotland on Sunday, the Aberdeen Press and Journal.
I tweet as @PeatWorrier.
